NAEYC Code of Ethical conduct and statement of commitment
Ethical responsibilities to children
1-1.5- To create and maintain safe and healthy settings that foster children's social, emotional, cognotive, and physical development and that respect their dignity and their contributions.
Every child deserves to grow in an safe environment and it is the duty of the teachers, parents, families and all the other care givers to ensure that all children have access to all these. children deserve respect just as any other person, when a child is respected enough all his/her needs are met.
Ethical responsibilities to families
1-2.2- To develop relationships of mutual trust and create partnerships with the families we serve.
Educating a child is a responsibility of both the parents/families and the teacher, it is more of a partnership because without help of the other person it becomes very difficult to help a child develop and learn.
Ethical responsibility to colleagues
1-3A.2- To share resources with co-workers, collaborating to ensure that the best possible early childhood care and education program is provided.
A good teacher is one who includes other resources and ideas in to his/her work to make it rich and shares all the ideas and resources available to help co-workers. Independent thinking is not good enough, two heads are better than one.
